MLBB star Sekys hopes to fulfil Sea Games dream

SEPANG: Haqqullah "Sekys" Ahmad Shahrul Zaman may have achieved a lot in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), but the 18-year-old still dreams of representing Malaysia in the Sea Games.

MLBB will offer two gold medals at next year's Sea Games in Thailand, and Haqqullah believes he has a shot after helping Malaysia secure the MLBB title at the World Esports Championships (WEC) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Friday.

In a video posted on the MLBB Professional League's (MPLMY) official TikTok account, Haqqullah revealed his next target is to fight for a Sea Games medal next year.

However, the Terengganu-born star remains humble about his chances, saying he is determined to earn his place in the national team.

"All I can do is work hard to show that I can contribute to the national team," said Haqqullah after arriving at KLIA here today.

At last year's Phnom Penh Sea Games, Malaysia bagged silver in the men's team event and bronze in the women's team.

Haqqullah together with Hazziq "Stormi" Danish Rizwan, Qayyum Ariffin "YumS" Suhairi, Ilman Zareef "Gojes" Zulkifli, Ealtond "Loleal" Rayner delivered Malaysia's first world title in eSports by defeating the Philippines 2-0 in the WEC final.

Next up for Haqqullah is the M6 World Championships, where he will represent Selangor Red Giants (SRG).

"I will rejoin SRG immediately and start preparing for M6. I hope we can carry our WEC momentum into the M6," he added.

SRG and Team Vamos will represent Malaysia at the M6, which begins with the wild card stage on Thursday.

However, both teams will only kick off their campaigns in the Swiss stage on Nov 28.
