PENAMPANG: The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah-Pakatan Harapan (GRS-PH Plus) coalition is committed to protecting the interests of all, said Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
Acknowledging occasional differences in views within GRS, Hajiji said there was a need for open-mindedness, mutual respect and unity.
"The year 2025 is the election year. This means we will hand back power to the people to decide through the ballot box, as per democratic practice.
"As the government chosen by the people, GRS-PH Plus is the ideal platform to solidify the coalition for the continuation of our struggle," he said at the launch of Parti Bersatu Sabah's 39th annual delegates' conference at Hongkod Koisaan Hall here.
He said that within the coalition, diversity was not a barrier but an advantage that should be nurtured and maintained.
"If this advantage continues to be cultivated, it will remain a strong foundation for our strength and resilience.
"This strength has shaped GRS, the foundation of state governance, now supported by our friends from PH and others," Hajiji said.
Hajiji added that political stability was the foundation for the advancement and well-being of a state or nation.
"Political stability is difficult to achieve if leaders are divided. It also will not be realised if people are at odds, which ultimately leads to division, weakness and ruin," he added.
He said GRS-PH Plus would continue to serve the people and present itself as the best platform to ensure Sabah's development.
Meanwhile, Hajiji commended PBS, a key component of GRS, for its contributions and resilience amid Sabah's dynamic political landscape.
Present at the event were PBS founder Huguan Siou Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan; PBS acting president and Deputy Chief Minister I, Datuk Seri Dr Joachim Gunsalam; Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku president and Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan; and the presidents of other GRS-PH Plus parties.
