MetMalaysia issues thunderstorms, heavy rain warning across eight states

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in eight states. In a statement today, MetMalaysia said the adverse weather conditions will continue until 9pm today.

"The affected states are Kelantan (Jeli and Kuala Krai), Terengganu (Besut, Setiu, Hulu Terengganu, and Dungun), and Selangor (Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat, and Sepang). Other states affected are Melaka, Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, and Rembau), Johor (Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai, and Johor Bahru) as well as Sabah (Pedalaman, Papar, Tawau, Lahad Datu, Tongod, and Kinabatangan in Sandakan)," the statement read.

The adverse weather conditions will also hit the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan.
