Hajiji offers GRS-PH plus government in 17th state election

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah will continue to offer the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS)-Pakatan Harapan (PH) plus pact for the people in the upcoming state election, says Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

He said the election demands all parties to strengthen cooperation, foster unity and refine strategies to ensure that the coalition remains the best choice for all people.

"This is because we are not only capable and skilled, committed and dedicated, but also sincere in our struggle, sincere in advancing the state, and sincere in defending the people's welfare.

"Next year will be the year of the election. Therefore, as the government of the day, which was formed based on the people's support and mandate, we will continue to offer our coalition which is GRS-PH plus for the people.

"There are still many things that we need to implement to develop our beloved state and for the wellbeing of the people.

"I am confident, with close collaboration and unity , we will once again win the 17th state election and continue our legacy ever since we took over the state in September 2020," he said during the opening of Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) convention here.

Hajiji also said that GRS, as part of the unity government, would continue to maintain a good relationship with the federal government.

"I call upon the members of LDP and the people of GRS to remain steadfast under the banners of this struggle."

The GRS chairman also said that there was another challenge that truly tested the coalition's resilience.

He was referring to the alleged dirty tactics of the opposition and their accomplices to tarnish the GRS-PH Plus government.

"This is the present-day challenge we must fight against with all our might, as it has the potential to poison the minds of the people and turn them against the government and party leadership.

"This is especially critical in today's era of advanced technology, where social media and Artificial Intelligence have permeated daily life.

"All lies and slander spread out there must not only be refuted but decisively countered to prevent the public from being deceived or swayed by the propaganda of those seeking to topple the government through immoral means."
