It all points to Herry joining BAM

KUALA LUMPUR: Indonesian coaching legend, Herry Iman Pierngadi, is heading to the BA of Malaysia (BAM), based on his social media post.

Yesterday, he posted: "Goodbye... 2024, thank you for all the memories. Welcome... 2025, new spirit and a new chapter."

This further fuelled speculation of Herry joining BAM, as a replacement for Tan Bin Shen who resigned recently as the national doubles head coach.

Some Indonesian players, including Mohammad Ahsan, also commented in a way that seemed to confirm Herry's impending move to Malaysia.

"Don't forget to invite me if you're going to eat durian musang king," said Mohammad Ahsan, to which Herry replied that he would gladly invite his former player.

Herry had also told Indonesian media outlet, detikSport, that he was only waiting for the contract draft (from BAM).

Earlier, it was reported that aside from Herry, two other coaches — Dane Mathias Boe and Indonesian Flandy Limpele — were in the running for the Malaysian job.

Herry is credited with having developed Olympic champions such as Tony Gunawan-Candra Wijaya and Hendra Setiawan-Markis Kido, along with several world-class pairs.
