SANDAKAN: A decorative Christmas tree was engulfed in flames at the IJM roundabout, Batu 6, early this morning.
District Fire and Rescue Station chief Senior Assistant Fire Superintendent Severinus @ Mohd Nidzam Sainkui said a team of seven firefighters in a fire engine was deployed to the scene after they were alerted to the fire at 3.37am.
"Upon arrival, it was confirmed that the fire involved an artificial Christmas tree at the road roundabout. The fire was brought under control by 3.50am," he said when contacted today.
No casualties were reported, and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
