#NSTviral: Queen Elizabeth Hospital staff spread Christmas cheer with viral festive decorations

KOTA KINABALU: The Queen Elizabeth Hospital here has gone viral after a clip showcasing the festive efforts of its staff in the gastroenterology ward to put up Christmas decorations was shared widely online.

The decorations start at the entrance, where the door is adorned with red ribbons and a Christmas wreath.

Inside, the ceiling features dangling star-shaped lights and string lights, creating a magical atmosphere for visitors walking through the space.

The festive display goes beyond the traditional Christmas tree with gifts placed around it. The staff also set up a Holy Family nativity scene, a "chimney," nutcrackers, reindeer, and other holiday-themed element.

As Christmas songs play in the background, medical professionals can be seen wearing festive headbands, further adding to the cheerful atmosphere.

A social media user, Josey Maria Julianus, commented, "Patients recover quickly when they see beautiful decorations."

Victor James Ampang noted that there would be no issues in Sabah, as staff from all backgrounds work together to set up the decorations.

"All staff were involved in making these decorations. It's the same during Aidilfitri and Chinese New Year; they work together," he said.
