KUALA LUMPUR: The government will continue providing 17 types of education aid with a RM5.3 billion allocation under the 2025 Budget.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the allocation includes RM870 million for the Supplementary Food Programme (RMT) next year, which is an increase from the RM784 million allocated this year.
"The RMT is expected to benefit 860,000 students and opportunities will also be given food caterers at district-level.
"Almost RM800 million under the Early School Aid will be distributed to all 5.2 million students between Year One and Form Five regardless of their parents' income," he said when tabling the 2025 Budget in Parliament today.
He said the allocation under the Poor Student Trust Fund (KWAPM) will be increased to RM180 million as compared to the RM150 million for this purpose this year.
