KUALA LUMPUR: The Education Ministry today received RM64.1 billion in the 2025 Budget- the highest in history.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim this is more than the RM58.7 billion allocated to the ministry this year.
"RM2 billion of that amount is for upgrading projects and maintenance of schools nationwide.
"This comprises RM1 billion specifically for maintaining all types of schools, particularly those with dilapidated classrooms. This includes national type, Chinese, Tamil, religious schools, schools in military camps and Special Education schools.
"Another RM1 billion is for upgrading inadequate infrastructure in 543 schools, especially in Sabah and Sarawak," he said.
