#SHOWBIZ: 14 contestants battle for 'CSOIAM' crown as show hits 700mil socmed reach!

KUALA LUMPUR: The first week of Calpis Soda One In A Million (CSOIAM) premiered live on TV3 from Studio TV3 in Glenmarie, Shah Alam last night and featured dramatic eliminations and impressive performances.

The hashtag #OIAM soared to the number one trending spot on platform X, garnering over 700 million social media impressions, making CSOIAM not just a prominent reality show but a phenomenon uniting music fans across the nation.

Out of 20 participants, only 14 advanced to the next stage after being assessed by judges Datuk Yusry Abdul Halim, Ziana Zain, and Cakra Khan.

The six contestants eliminated were Esther, Boisover, Iqmal Romi, Yusriansyah, Bfore3, and Jill Gaisah. Meanwhile, the 14 participants moving forward include Jimi, Rezza Shah, Dayangku Iffah, Dhania, Zazzleen, Eylia Guntabid, Hafiz Zainal, Aniq Iffat, Mariam, Kai Deva, Alya Mardien, Erfarina, Trio XL, and Marygrace.

Adding to the excitement, Rezza Shah, initially eliminated, was saved by the judges using an immunity card, securing his spot for another week.

Kai Deva also made a mark, earning the title of "Terpaling Fizz" after showcasing an exceptional performance.

Over the next seven weeks, the contestants will face weekly elimination rounds, culminating in a grand finale on Feb 9.

Starting in the second episode, eliminations will be determined by a combination of 60 per cent jury scores and 40 per cent audience votes, which can be cast via a special code announced during the show.

Next week, participants will take on the challenge of reinterpreting songs from the 1980s to 2000s, blending nostalgia, diverse genres, and iconic local film soundtracks.

The premiere episode featured performances by past One In A Million winners, including Suki Low (Season 1), Ayu Damit (Season 2), and Tomok (Season 3).

Judges Yusry, Ziana, and Cakra Khan, along with legendary trio KRU, also took the stage to deliver an unforgettable opening.

Hosted by Haniff Hamzah and Fiza Frizzy, the revamped CSOIAM will air weekly on TV3 until the finale.

The grand prize includes RM500,000, a car worth RM200,000, and a two-year exclusive recording contract with Alternate Records & Talents.
