KUALA LUMPUR: "It's a miracle that (Datuk Seri) Siti Nurhaliza is still alive today," shared Tengku Ampuan Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah recently.
Tunku Azizah revealed this during the press conference at the launch of Alhaya Fertility Centre at Damansara Specialist Hospital 2 in Petaling Jaya, where she was the guest of honour.
Also present at the event was Siti Nurhaliza, whose harrowing experience during childbirth was finally shared to the media.
"It had been difficult for her to conceive and when she finally did, giving birth to (Siti) Aafiyah, she almost lost her life due to some complications," she said.
Tunku Azizah added that while Siti had never shared this story publicly before, she just wanted to share how difficult it had been for the 45-year-old singer to finally become a mother six years ago.
"Tunku Azizah was among the few people both my husband and I shared about this incident," said Siti, who added that she was grateful to God that she had been given a second chance.
Like Tunku Azizah, Siti had difficulty to conceive and opted for in vitro fertilisation.
After giving birth to her firstborn Siti Aafiyah, she then tried the same treatment again and later gave birth to Muhammad Afwa in April 2021.
Siti married Datuk Seri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa on Aug 21, 2006.
