KUALA LUMPUR: Popular influencer Siti Jamumall's sudden cancellation of her wedding with one man only to get married to another recently is not a marketing gimmick.
The 25-year-old personality axed a wedding ceremony set for May 31 but then tied the knot with Khairul Aiman Abdul Kudus, 21, in Satun, Thailand on June 1.
Siti Jamumall, whose real name is Siti Suriani Wahiddin, apologised for the confusion and hoped an explanation would end the matter.
"This is not a marketing technique to sell my business as claimed by netizens. The man I married was meant to be and the other person was not. We cannot go against the will of God.
"It is true that the cancellation was made two days before the ceremony was to take place. I understand if the man's mother and father are angry with the situation.
"Who is not sad that their child is not married, but I have explained everything to the man and hope that nothing will arise," she said in a Harian Metro report yesterday.
Siti added that as a Muslim, she also performed an 'istikharah' prayer (asking God for help to make a choice) as the initial wedding date approached because she wanted a man who could accept her children and also her brother who is disabled (OKU).
"For my second marriage, I want someone who can accept my brother, can take care of and love my brother the way I love him.
"I don't care how rich the man is, if he can't accept my brother, I won't marry him," she said.
Meanwhile, Aiman who is also an influencer is ready to accept criticism from the public who claim that he's a marriage wrecker.
"I am ready to be labeled as such but I was taken by Siti's treatment of her brother who is an OKU.
"When I saw the way she took care of him, I felt that if I became ill one day, she would surely be able to treat me well.
"Because of that, I tried to win her heart again and finally we were officially married," he said.
Aiman admitted that he was stunned when he found out that she was about to marry another man.
"To me, we did not break up. I took two months to repair our relationship, but Siti still refused to see me.
"At that time, I said I can't sit still like this, and I have to chase her again. Even when she was with someone else, I still tried to contact her.
"I keep trying no matter what because I understand that real love is not just saying 'I love you, I miss you'.
"On the contrary, it requires sacrifice, effort, and everything for the woman I love. As a man, I must be strong and believe that every effort will bear fruit," he said.
Siti had previously been married but divorced four years after tying the knot.
She has two sons, Putra Adam Rizki, 4, and Putra Aiman Zafran, 2 from that last marriage.
