KUALA LUMPUR: Team Vamos had needed to figure out how to get back to winning ways in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Professional League Malaysia (MPLMY) after an unexpected defeat to Monster Vicious (MV) today.
MV, who suffered two straight losses in Week 4 yesterday, bounced back to beat Vamos 2-1.
Vamos' Roamer Zulhisyam "Xorn" Nor said the defeat to MV came out of the blue, and the team had a post-mortem to figure out the defeat.
"MV should have been a game that we won, but we were not gelling with each other.
"We had a post-mortem and found out what we were uncomfortable with against MV, and we studied the game footage to figure out what we needed to fix," said Zulhisyam.
The result of the post-mortem brought them a 2-0 victory against Homebois today.
Vamos returned to second spot on the standings with 14 points, which is vital to securing an upper-bracket slot for the playoffs with two games left to play.
Zulhisyam added that the challenge from the likes of third-place JP Niners (12 points), Red Esports (fourth, 12 points) and MV (fifth, 11 points) is keeping Vamos on their toes.
"The teams below look more comfortable and compact compared to previous weeks and they are not that far away from us, so it's important to step up our game."
Vamos will play second from bottom RSG Malaysia and seventh place Team Rey next week.
