KUALA LUMPUR: Reigning champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) crushed KL City 4-0 in the Malaysia Cup quarter-final return leg at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium on Saturday.
The Southern Tigers, who won the first leg 2-1, were dominant against KL City who were missing key players, Paulo Josue, Declan Lambert, Haqimi Azim Rosli, Nicolas Swirad and Ryan Lambert.
JDT scored through Arif Aiman Hanapi (36th minute), Bergson Da Silva 45th+2 and 56th) and Juan Muniz (62nd).
In another quarter-final tie, Terengganu beat Negri Sembilan 4-2 at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium for a 6-2 aggregate victory.
However, it was Negri who stormed to a 2-0 lead with goals from Hadin Azman (24th minute, penalty) and A. Selvan (34th).
The Turtles responded with goals from Akhyar Rashid, Safawi Rasid, Azam Azmi Murad and Shahrul Nizam Ros Hasni.
Terengganu will face JDT in the semi-finals on Jan 17 and Feb 1.
In the Challenge Cup, Police booked their semi-final spot with a 4-3 aggregate win over Melaka. The Cops edged Melaka 2-1 in the second leg at Hang Jebat Stadium.
