KUALA LUMPUR: Selangor are braced for a tough battle against Terengganu in the FA Cup semi-final first leg at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium on Friday.
The Red Giants will be without key players, Reziq Bani Hani and Yohandry Orozco, who are both suspended for the match.
Reziq, a centre-forward, and attacking midfielder Orozco received red cards during the quarter-final return leg against Kuching City two weeks ago.
Despite the setback, Selangor triumphed 5-3 in a penalty shootout against Kuching after a 4-4 aggregate draw.
Selangor coach Nidzam Jamil admitted that Terengganu are riding high following their 7-0 aggregate victory over Sabah in the last eight.
"In our previous match, some key players didn't play the full 90 minutes to prevent injuries that could disrupt our preparations against Terengganu,'' said Nidzam.
Meanwhile, Kedah will host defending champions Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) in the other semi-final in Alor Star.
Kedah coach Nafuzi Zain has plans to replace striker Syafiq Ahmad, who is ineligible to play as he is on loan from JDT.
At the JDT camp, Fernando Forestieri could return to the field as coach Hector Bidoglio is likely to pair him with Bergson Da Silva and Heberty Fernandes against Kedah.
