KUALA LUMPUR: Terengganu's winless run in the Super League stretched to six matches after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Police at the Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium on Friday.
The Turtles parted ways with their Croatian coach, Tomislav Steinbruckner, earlier this week, and his assistant, Badrul Afzan Razali, has been appointed as their interim coach.
The coaching changes seemed to work initially when the hosts took the lead at the end of the first half through El Salvador international, Nelson Bonilla, who broke the deadlock in the 44th minute.
But the Cops hit back in the 53rd minute through Nigerian midfielder Chidi Osuchukwu who scored the equaliser.
Both teams played end-to- end football, but Police goalkeeper Bryan See and his Terengganu counterpart, Suhaimi Husin, pulled off several crucial saves to keep their teams in the game.
The result left Terengganu remaining in third spot in the 13-team standings with 17 points from 11 matches, while the Cops rose to fifth spot with 15 points.
