KUALA LUMPUR: KL City chalked up their third consecutive win on Sunday, defeating Penang 4-2 in a Super League match at KLFA Stadium.
Though KL were a goal down by the third minute from a strike by Penang's Adib Ra'op, the hosts responded quickly, levelling five minutes later through captain Paulo Josue.
In the 22nd minute, Jovan Motika put KL City ahead, 2-1.
KL City's rising star, Haqimi Azim Rosli, dazzled in the second half with two superb goals in the 56th and 74th minutes.
Penang's Rodrigo Da Silva Dias struck in the 82nd minute, but the goal wasn't enough to change the outcome.
KL City climbed to eighth spot in the Super League table with 11 points from 11 games while Penang remained at 10th, also with 11 points.
KL City coach Miroslav Kuljanac said: "Our players showed character to get those goals. I made two substitutions which included taking Haqimi off the bench and these decisions paid off."
