PETALING JAYA: A brace from Ronnie Fernandez earned Selangor a 2-1 win over Perak in Sunday's Super League match at MBPJ Stadium in Kelana Jaya.
The Chilean forward scored his first goal from close range in the 24th minute and added a second when he converted a penalty in the 40th minute.
Selangor were reduced to 10 players in the 63rd minute after Alex Agyarkwa received a red card for a hard tackle on Perak's Wan Zack Haikal Wan Nor.
Selangor defended well for 15 minutes, but a lapse in judgment allowed Perak's Nur Azfar Fikri Azhar to score in the 78th minute, giving the Bos Gaurus their first goal of the match.
However, it was too late for the visitors to equalise as Perak fell to their third defeat in the league.
Selangor remain undefeated in their last three games.
Selangor coach Nidzam Jamil said it was not easy for his side to play with 10 players.
Meanwhile, Perak coach Yusri Che Lah said his players should be ashamed for losing focus and letting in two goals in the first half.
"We dominated the game, kept possession but made mistakes," said Yusri.
