KUALA LUMPUR: A video showing the Melaka Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) raiding a restaurant in Melaka for hiding packaged cooking oils has captured the attention of social media users.
In a TikTok video posted by @kpdnmelaka, the joint operation was led by Melaka KPDN Director Norena Jaafar and State Health, Human Resources and Unity Committee chairman Datuk Ngwe Hee Sem. The restaurant was highlighted for concealing packaged cooking oil that is only intended for public use.
Additionally, the restaurant's hygiene was called into question due to food items being placed on the floor. Compounds were issued for both offences.
Meanwhile, several talismans were also found placed in every corner of the restaurant.
A TikTok user @b0ngsu4 comically said that the talismans might have been intended to attract customers but instead saw the arrival of KPDN officers.
The Melaka KPDN efforts received compliments from social media users while some users asked for KPDN in other states to follow suit.
