KUALA LUMPUR: A motorcyclist faced a horrific moment when a Perodua Axia suddenly flipped on its side on the Sprint Highway yesterday morning.
The incident which was uploaded by Facebook user @Aurizn unfolded when a Perodua Myvi on the left lane slowed down.
The Axia, which came from behind swerved at the last minute but hit the Myvi's rear and flipped onto the middle lane.
In a desperate attempt to avoid a collision, the motorcyclist swerved sharply but hit the Axia's undercarriage and crashed into the concrete barrier on the right.
It is learnt that the accident occurred yesterday at approximately 10am.
Checks with highway authorities revealed the motorcyclist survived, but the extent of his injuries is unknown.
As of press time, authorities have yet to release an official statement on the accident, but the video has sparked discussions on social media about road safety and the need for greater awareness among drivers and motorcyclists alike.
The New Straits Times has reached out to the police and is awaiting a response.
Meanwhile, a user in the comment section claiming to be the motorcyclist's friend said the victim was sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital.
"That rider is my friend, now he's safe at HKL. Could I request this video as evidence (for legal action)?" requested Huzairi Rashid.
