KUALA LUMPUR: Today marks the actual birthday of Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, who turns 79.
According to a Facebook post of the Selangor Royal Office, Sultan Sharafuddin chose Dec 11 as his official birthday, seeing that Dec 24 was close to year-end holidays and festivities.
"His Royal Highness was born on Dec 24, 1945 at Istana Jema'ah in Klang. We extend our congratulations and best wishes on the 79th birthday of His Royal Highness, the Sultan of Selangor.
"May Allah grant His Royal Highness a long life in good health, always under His protection, and blessed with happiness.
"May he be bestowed with divine guidance, wisdom, authority, honor, dignity, rank and sovereignty, both in this world and the hereafter. Daulat Tuanku!" the post read.
