KUALA TERENGGANU: Improving weather conditions have led to a further decline in the number of flood victims in Terengganu, with 4,025 individuals from 989 families still housed at 21 temporary relief centres (PPS) across four districts in the state.
The four districts still sheltering flood victims are Kuala Terengganu, Dungun, Setiu, and Kuala Nerus, while Marang and Hulu Terengganu have recently recovered from the floods.
This was confirmed by the Terengganu State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat (JPBN), which announced that the PPS at SK Tanggol in Hulu Terengganu, housing 33 victims from 12 families, was officially closed at midday.
In Marang, the PPS at Dewan Sivik Merchang, which sheltered 50 victims from 16 families, was also closed earlier today.
Kuala Nerus continues to record the highest number of victims, with 2,130 individuals from 562 families at 11 PPS.
In Dungun, five PPS remain open, accommodating 1,249 victims from 285 families, while 552 victims from 125 families are housed at three PPS in Kuala Terengganu.
Meanwhile, 94 victims from 17 families are staying at two PPS in Setiu.
