Kedah flood evacuee count drops, but Kota Setar sees slight rise

ALOR STAR: The number of flood evacuees in Kedah has decreased to approximately 6,800 as conditions steadily improve.

According to a 4:00 pm update from the Kedah Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, 6,871 evacuees are being housed in 33 flood relief centres (PPS) across five districts. This marks a reduction from the 7,206 evacuees recorded earlier in the day.

However, Kota Setar, the hardest-hit district, has experienced a slight rise in evacuee numbers. There are now 4,312 evacuees from 1,303 families in 18 PPS, up from 4,168 this morning.

In Kubang Pasu, 1,659 evacuees from 518 families are taking refuge in nine PPS, while Pokok Sena has 547 evacuees from 163 families in three PPS.

Sik is sheltering 203 evacuees from 55 families in two PPS, and Padang Terap has 150 evacuees from 38 families in one PPS.
