KUALA LUMPUR: Popular influencer and entrepreneur Khairul Aming has once again demonstrated his commitment to the community, stepping up to provide relief to flood victims in Kelantan.
In a post on Instagram, Khairul revealed that within just two hours, his team managed to gather enough supplies to assist 2,000 flood victims in Pasir Mas yesterday.
The aid, which included meal packs, clothing, sanitary products, medicines, diapers, cat food and blankets, was distributed to two schools serving as temporary relief centres.
"Thank you to all the volunteers who came forward to donate essential items," he said, acknowledging the collaborative effort behind the initiative.
Not stopping there, Khairul announced plans for an even larger relief operation.
He said his team from the factory had prepared thousands of retort-packaged 'dendeng' (a traditional dried meat dish), along with a lorry full of essential supplies, including freshly cooked meals.
He added that volunteers also contributed their time and donations to support the initiative.
Earlier, it was reported that the number of flood victims in the country continues to rise, reaching 119,701 people in nine states this morning, compared to 102,000 reported last night.
According to the Info Bencana portal of the Social Welfare Department, 119,701 people from 36,032 families are seeking shelter at 697 temporary relief centres up to 7am.
