ARAU: Two flood evacuation centres were activated in Perlis as continuous downpours since yesterday unleashed floods in the state.
Perlis Welfare Department director Ku Chik Ku Mat Isa said a total of 43 people including a 21-day-old baby are seeking shelter at the SK Arau and SK Sena relief centres as of 3pm today.
Meanwhile, Sungai Gial here showed a water level reading at the alert stage.
According to the Public Infobanjir website, the water level at Sungai Gial has dropped to 8.79m at 2.45pm compared to 9.02m at about an hour earlier.
