KUCHING: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a forecast for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds across various parts of the country, expected to persist until 6pm today.
According to Borneo Post report, in Sarawak, the areas likely to be affected include Kuching, Serian, Samarahan (Samarahan and Asajaya), Sarikei (Pakan, Julau, and Meradong), Sibu, Mukah (Matu, Dalat, and Mukah), and Kapit (Song).
In Sabah, similar weather conditions are anticipated in the Interior (Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, and Nabawan) and Sandakan (Tongod and Kinabatangan).
The alert also covers Kedah (Langkawi, Kota Setar, Yan, Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim, and Bandar Baharu); Penang (Seberang Perai Utara, Seberang Perai Tengah, and Seberang Perai Selatan); Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, and Batang Padang); Kelantan (Jeli, Kuala Krai, and Gua Musang); Terengganu (Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, and Kuala Terengganu); Pahang (Cameron Highlands and Rompin); Selangor (Gombak, Petaling, and Hulu Langat); the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur; Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu, Jempol, and Tampin); Melaka; and Johor (Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, and Mersing).
