KUALA LUMPUR: Muslim Media Prima Berhad staff today attended a special course in preparation for their upcoming umrah pilgrimage.
The course, held at Balai Berita Bangsar, was delivered by MPB senior employee relations manager Fauzi Hashim and Arrayyan Travel Services executive director Nuraffenda Mohd Ibrahim.
The pilgrimage is set to take place from Oct 9 to 19, facilitated by Arrayyan Travel Services, and will involve 127 participants.
"(As the travel agency in charge), our focus is to ensure the before, during, and after phases of the pilgrimage proceed smoothly. We aim to also ensure the comfort of the participants as they go through the travel process, with their visa, their flight tickets, and hotel", Nuraffenda said.
The agency has had a long experience with MPB in arranging the pilgrimage, which is an important, optional journey for Muslims next to the annual haj.
During the course, attendees were instructed not only on the religious requirements of the ritual but also other important details to pay attention to, such as their health.
According to Nuraffenda, she was delighted that over 90 per cent of the pilgrimage participants attended today's course, which may avert any avoidable mishaps during the trip due to lack of information.
Also at the session, the travel agency handed the ihram robe, the article of clothing for the pilgrimage, as well as luggage and bags to the participants.
