KLUANG: Mahkota assemblyman Datuk Sharifah Azizah Syed Zain, who is being treated at a hospital here due to health issues, is reported to be in critical condition.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who visited Sharifah Azizah at Enche' Besar Hajjah Khalsom Hospital, said she is no longer sedated.
"Her condition is quite critical. Let us together pray that everything will be made easier for her and her family.
"Let us pray the best for her," he told reporters.
Zahid arrived at the compound of the hospital at 10.36am. Present to receive his arrival was the hospital's director Dr Mohamaad Nizam Subahir.
Present were Kluang member of Parliament Wong Shu Qi, Johor Lama assemblyman Norizah Noh, Mengkibol assemblyman Chew Chong Sin, Kluang Umno division chief Datuk Jais Sarday and former National Unity Minister Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique.
It was reported that the 63-year-old assemblyman was rushed to the hospital after suffering internal bleeding on Wednesday.
Sharifah Azizah, who currently serves as the Kluang Umno Wanita chief, previously held the position of Umno Johor Wanita chief.
She won the Mahkota state assembly seat in the Johor State Election in 2022.
Prior to that, she served as Penawar state assemblyman between 2018 and 2022.
