KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur City Hall has sealed an illegal steamboat stall operator's premises in Jalan Ampang.
The stall was owned by a foreigner who was operating it adjacent to the MRT Ampang Park station.
According to the official City Hall Facebook page, the foreign steamboat vendor was found to be conducting business without the necessary permits.
"Utilising the provision under UUK 3(1) of the 2016 Licencing of Hawkers By-Law (WPKL), City Hall confiscated various items including motorcycles, gas cylinders, plastic tables and chairs, drink containers and equipment used by the vendor.
"The items have been transported to the City Hall confiscation storage facility at Jalan Lombong, Taman Miharja Cheras, where they will be documented and processed for further action."
City Hall says it will carry out checks more regularly to screen such illegal operators.
