NIBONG TEBAL: PKR deputy-president Rafizi Ramli has challenged Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor to lodge a report following the latter's claim of graft involving those in PKR and DAP.
Rafizi said if Sanusi's claims were true then he should lodge a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission tomorrow (today).
"If Sanusi is so great, he should lodge a report with the anti-graft body.
"If there are really people from PKR and DAP who 'pau' (solicit bribes) for projects, derailing the state's development projects, then called for a press conference and name them.
"Don't use this Sungai Bakap by-election to sow the seed of revenge and make a fool out of the Malays just because you (Sanusi) don't know how to do your work," he said in his speech at the launch of the unity pact's election machinery for the Sungai Bakap by-election last night.
Rafizi said Sanusi, when launching the Perikatan Nasional election machinery on Saturday night, had spoken confidently of his plans for Kedah, making it sound as though Kedah was the most developed state in the world.
He said Sanusi also went on to say that all his plans could not proceed as they were issues with approvals.
He further said that Sanusi had alleged that there were those in PKR and DAP who 'pau' (solicit bribes) for projects.
"I want to ask who is being arrested? Whose children are being arrested? As far as I am concerned, no children of the unity government leaders have been arrested, either PKR or DAP.
"The ones arrested by the MACC are mainly from Perikatan Nasional.
"Sanusi claimed that he was never arrested for graft. No one said he did. He was arrested for making seditious remarks against royalty.
"MACC only arrests people if they have proof, and in this case, only tens of months after becoming the government," he added.
He said if Sanusi failed to lodge a report, then the people of Sungai Bakap should be prepared for all sorts of stories he is expected to churn out during the by-election period.
"The only way to teach him is for the people here to lodge a report against him for slander.
"This is the only way for him to take responsibility of his words.
"Any lies he made during the by-election period, we will answer him immediately.
"As I said, he has no issues to bring forth. This is his fourth year as Menteri Besar. What else is he going to pin the blame on?" Rafizi asked.
