KUALA LUMPUR: Condolences have begun pouring in for Sungai Bakap assemblyman Nor Zamri Latiff, who died at the Hospital Seberang Jaya (HSJ) this afternoon after he was hospitalised due to an inflammation of the stomach.

Among them are his fellow assemblymen Mohd Yusni Mat Piah (Penaga) and Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican (Bertam).

"Condolences for my fellow assemblyman, who was steadfast with the struggle of Islam until the end of his life. Rest well, my friend," said Yusni in a Facebook post.

Reezal wrote; "I received sad news regarding the passing of Zamri. He was a friend that I admired and his leadership was full of patience. My condolences to the family, relatives and friends."

Also expressing their sadness over Zamri's passing were MCA president and Ayer Hitam member of parliament (MP) Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong who said; "His passing is a loss to the community, especially the people of Sungai Bakap. His contribution and service to the community throughout his life will surely be remembered forever. May his soul be blessed," he wrote in a post on Facebook.

Arau MP Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim wrote; "Condolences to his family. May Allah shower mercy on his soul and place him among the believers."

Earlier this month, it was reported that Zamri was admitted to the ICU of the HSJ due to an inflammation of the stomach.
