GEORGE TOWN: Sungai Bakap assemblyman Nor Zamri Latiff is still being treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Seberang Jaya Hospital (HSJ).
According to state opposition leader Muhammad Fauzi Yusoff, Zamri is in a stable condition.
"I have visited him a few times at the HSJ and the most recent visit was on Wednesday. He is doing much better than before.
"He is still seeking treatment and doctors say he needs more rest," he said at the sidelines of the state legislative assembly sitting here today.
Fauzi, who is the Penang Pas commissioner and Sungai Dua assemblyman, also denied claims that Zamri was in a critical condition.
"That is what the people say but we also need to be courteous to his family as well. What will his family feel?
"That is why I have not been issuing any statement. I hope the media understands.
"Let us all pray for his speedy recovery," he added.
Fauzi said in the current state legislative assembly sitting, the opposition would only be represented by 10 of its elected representatives following Zamri's hospitalisation.
"We have sent in a letter to the State Speaker," he said.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Zamri was admitted to the ICU of the HSJ due to an inflammation of the stomach.
He was partially sedated to allow him to rest.
