KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) has raided six more premises in connection with its corruption scandal probe involving Selangor Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI).
MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed this when contacted today.
"I can confirm that six premises have been searched today.
"I have yet to be briefed on what the investigators have found during their search. Let them complete their documentation process first and get back to me," he said.
It is learnt that the six premises raided consisted of a residential unit and five offices in the Klang Valley area.
A source revealed that the six locations raided were not safehouses.
Earlier today, it was reported that a businessman linked to a corruption scandal involving MBI was rearrested.
Azam was reported saying that the man was rearrested on Tuesday and has been remanded for five days.
He said the individual was rearrested after they opened a new case involving a separate issue.
It was reported that MACC uncovered two more "safe houses" and seized RM321,000 in foreign and local currency in its probe into the corruption scandal involving MBI.
Azam was quoted saying that MACC expects to make more arrests in connection with the probe.
MACC also received information that some money has been invested in Singapore, and there may be other accounts in different banks.
Four individuals had been taken into custody — three men and one woman.
