KANGAR: The remand period for three men suspected of killing former rider Elly Idzlianizar Elias, 40, in Kangar last week has been extended until Sept 23.
The six-day remand extension was issued by magistrate Ana Rozana Mohd Nor after the original remand period for the 28-year-old, 31-year-old, and the 51-year-old main suspect ended today.
Earlier, all three suspects arrived at the Kangar Court Complex at 9.30am, escorted by more than 10 officers from the Kangar police headquarters under tight security.
The suspects left the court about 11am.
The court granted the extension to allow further investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

Kangar police chief Assistant Commissioner Yusharifuddin Mohd Yusop said a post-mortem showed that the victim had died from a dozen slash wounds.
Police have since detained three suspects and seized a 112cm-long "Samurai" sword believed to be the murder weapon.
