BENTONG: Four individuals including three women were fined RM500 each after they pleaded guilty to endangering others by cooking instant noodles at a petrol station in Genting Highlands near here on May 12.
Fadhli Zil Ikram Sazalin Isran Ji, 24; Nurfatin Irdina Shahrulnizam, 24; Nur Anis Salleh, 24; and Nur Azira Azman, 23, pleaded guilty after they were jointly charged in front of Magistrate Nadratun Naiem Zainan.
According to the charge sheet, the four of them had cooked instant noodles using a gas stove in the vicinity of a petrol station at Taman Cendawan Genting, Highlands.
Their action was deemed to have been one which could pose a threat to others.They were accused of committing the offence about 1.30am on May 12 at the petrol station.
The prosecution was handled by Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhammad Zamharir Muhammad Zuhid while all the accused were not represented.They were charged under Section 336 of the Penal Code for endangering the lives or safety of others, which carries a three month jail term or maximum penalty of a RM500 fine, or both.
Yesterday, police arrested 15 people who were believed to have used portable stoves to cook instant noodles at a petrol station in Genting Highlands.
A video clip of the incident which was uploaded on May 13 had gone viral prompting police to track down the culprits.
