KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd says it continues its strong performance, achieving total sales of close to 8,400 units in November to bring the year-to-date (YTD) total to about 89,500 units.
The Vios, Hilux and Yaris were among the top contributors to UMW Toyota's overall sales last month.
"This highlights Toyota's sustained appeal in the local automotive market and strong consumer preference for vehicles that combine efficiency, reliability and advanced safety features," UMW Toyota said.
No Lexus figures were disclosed, although UMW Toyota typically includes numbers from the premium brand into the overall sales.
In the same month last year, UMW Toyota reportedly sold a total of 10,263 units with the YTD for 11 months of 2023 standing at 97,705 units.
UMW Toyota launched the new Camry and Corolla Cross facelift at the week-long Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show 2024, which ended on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, UMW Toyota said it hosted the annual Toyota Skill Contest 2024 from Nov 16-17
at its Shah Alam headquarters, underscoring its heritage of nurturing excellence since 1993.
With the 2024 theme "Customer Delight Through Quality Sales and Services," the contest aimed to elevate trust and loyalty among customers by promoting exceptional skills and knowledge among dealer staffs across sales and services roles.
"This annually held event, exemplifies Toyota's enduring commitment to customer service excellence by recognising and motivating its participants," it said.
The two-day contest highlighted the Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) and the company's commitment to carbon neutrality through its multi-pathway approach.
Cash prizes exceeding RM100,000 were awarded to winners across 10 categories.
