#SHOWBIZ: New single 'Menyala' does not target anyone

SINGER Stacy Anam has clarified that her latest single, 'Menyala', carries no negative connotations and is not intended to discredit anyone.

The singer said the song is unrelated to her recent withdrawal from the 'A Night With Sumandak Stars: Ceritera Hatiku' concert.

"The song 'Menyala' celebrates individuals who excel in everything they do.

"I composed it shortly after completing 'The Hardest Singing Show' last July," Stacy said at the recent preview of the 'Menyala' music video.

Addressing speculation, Stacy stated:  "If people choose to link this song to recent events, that's their interpretation, but it was never my intention."

The single, which incorporates elements of the Sabah culture, also features phrases in the Sabah dialect, continuing Stacy's creative tradition since her hit, 'Pakai Buang'.

At the event, Stacy wore a blend of modern and ethnic Sabah attire, but she denied it was meant to signal nationalism.

Stacy also chose not to dwell on the controversy surrounding her withdrawal from the concert, instead shifting her focus to her first solo concert in Sabah, scheduled for June next year.

"After 16 years, it's meaningful to begin my solo concert journey in my homeland," she added.
