#SHOWBIZ: Vida hires lawyer to address asset seizure issue

KUALA LUMPUR: Celebrity entrepreneur Datuk Seri Vida will give her full commitment to resolve the issue of failure to repay arrears for the renovation of her factory building.

Vida, who is reported to be in China at the moment, said she has appointed a lawyer to resolve the matter in the best way.

The 53-year-old controversial personality, whose real name is Hasmiza Othman, took to social media yesterday to clear the air.

"I would like to inform you that I take this matter seriously and will give full attention to the issues raised.

"I have appointed a lawyer to advise and assist me in resolving this matter in the best way and by the law," she wrote in a post on Instagram.

At the same time, Vida requested all parties to give her space to resolve the case involved.

"I greatly appreciate the support from all parties and hope to be given space to deal with this matter calmly and professionally," she added.

Another entry featured a video of her with her 19-year-old daughter Nur Edlynn Zamileen Muhammad Amin, better known as Cik B, while abroad.

Earlier, the media reported that Vida failed to pay the remaining arrears of her factory in Shah Alam, converted into a studio in 2018 amounting to RM1,060,285, to construction contractor Ah Design Communication.

Following that, a confiscation order was issued by the Kuala Lumpur High Court.

The court together with the plaintiff's lawyer Samir Zainal and contractor Mohamad Taufik Kamarul executed the order at Vida's residence in Persiaran Bukit Meru, Ipoh, at about 9am yesterday.

It is understood that all the items in the house except for Vida's locked room have been confiscated after almost four hours.

Among the items seized were two Toyota Vellfires, a Toyota Grand Hiace, a BMW X7, a 100-inch Samsung TV, an 85-inch Samsung TV, 10 sofas, 15 air conditioning units, six exclusive paintings, and chandelier lights.

Vida has two weeks until Dec 9 to settle the debt, otherwise the confiscated items will be auctioned.
