KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Stacy Anam has announced her withdrawal from the upcoming A Night With Sumandak Stars - Ceritera Hatiku concert at Zepp KL next month, citing technical reasons.
Without going into detail, Stacy mentioned that there was an unresolved technical issue that led to her decision.
She emphasised that she had the right to withdraw since no formal contract had been signed with the organisers.
"From the start, I was reluctant to participate. Initially, the concert was called Bella & Friends, so I assumed Bella Astillah was one of the organisers," Stacy told BH Online.
"I wasn't interested, but they persuaded me again. I agreed on the condition that my image would be included in promotional materials."
On Friday, Stacy's management, Rhythm & Rhyme, officially confirmed her withdrawal from the concert, scheduled for Nov 30.
The concert, which features several female singers from Sabah, includes Bella Astillah, Marsha Milan, Adira Suhaimi, Nikki Palikat, Wani Kayrie, and Didi Astillah.
Stacy remains firm in her decision and is unfazed by any potential criticism.
"I'm doing this to protect my career. I need to stand up for myself," she stated.
When asked if her decision would strain her relationship with Bella, Stacy responded that it would not affect anything.
"We're not particularly close. Bella even reached out to me about the concert, so nothing has changed," she added.
