KUALA LUMPUR: Mat Kilau director Syamsul Yusof's mother Datin Patimah Ismail is saddened to see him undergo divorce proceedings all alone.
In an Instagram Story post today, Patimah said that she "shed tears" seeing her second of four children ending yet another marriage.
"Honestly, I'm shedding many tears seeing my son face his fate all alone. But I will always pray for his well-being and for him to see better days ahead," she said.
Syamsul and his wife Ira Kazar were divorced with a single talak at the Kuala Selangor Syariah Lower Court early today.
Syamsul was represented by syarie lawyer Azmi Mohd Rais, who told the court that Ira had violated "taklik" (conditions and promises) five times since Aug 14.
On Aug 16, Syamsul filed for divorce from Ira at the Gombak Timur Syariah Lower Court.
They were married in Southern Thailand on Jan 6 last year.
