KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia opened mixed mirroring Wall Street's mixed closing as sentiment remains jittery over the Federal Reserve's path on interest rates.
At 9.20am, the FTSE Bursa Malaysia (FBM) KLCI was flat at 1,604.01 versus Monday's close of 1,604.04.
The benchmark index opened lower at 1,603.18.
The broader market saw gainers led decliners 304 to 161 while 334 counters were unchanged.
Rakuten Trade Sdn Bhd equity research vice president Thong Pak Leng said managed to chart an impressive rebound yesterday and bargain hunting activities are likely to continue.
"We believe such bargain hunting activities to continue ahead of the earnings report from the heavyweights this week. "Thus, we expect the index to hover within the 1,600-1,610 range today," said Thong in a note.
