KUALA LUMPUR: The Brand Legend Awards, organised by the Branding Association of Malaysia (BAM), received a major boost with SunStrong Entertainment stepping in as the main sponsor.
The awards aimed to celebrate and promote excellence in Malaysian branding, offering companies a platform to showcase their achievements and inspire continuous innovation across various industries.
SunStrong Entertainment founder Jment Lim explained that the decision to sponsor the event was rooted in the company's commitment to supporting initiatives that brought positive impacts to society.
"One of the central reasons is to support events that bring a positive impact to society.
"The Brand Legends Awards aligned with this purpose, which is why we have become the main sponsor. We work together to bring positive change to the community," Lim told Business Times in an interview.
The Brand Legend Awards had been expected to drive companies to raise their standards and push the boundaries of innovation.
"The awards provided a platform for outstanding branding, and this, in turn, inspired other businesses to improve their standards and quality.
"Continuous innovation is key for progress, and these awards promoted that," Lim noted.
In addition to elevating branding standards in Malaysia, Lim hoped the event had encouraged domestic companies to think beyond national borders.
"We are hopeful that, over time, we can help Malaysian businesses expand globally.
"We want our entrepreneurs to create knowledge systems that allow them to extend their influence beyond Malaysia and ensure long-term success," he said.
When asked about the qualities essential for brand success, Lim stressed the importance of providing real value to consumers.
"The quality must provide value — something that fulfils people's needs. It's not just about offering products; it's about delivering what people truly desire.
"Quality should also address emotional aspects, offering products that look good and meet the emotional needs of consumers."
The Brand Legend Awards not only recognised successful branding efforts but also encouraged businesses to innovate and push toward excellence.
For Lim, the goal was to inspire companies to improve themselves and, ultimately, the economy as a whole.
"When you do the right thing, the rewards come naturally," Lim said, reflecting on SunStrong Entertainment's commitment to fostering positive change through its involvement in the Brand Legend Awards.
The Brand Legend Awards highlighted the brands that had defined excellence in Malaysia's business landscape, as well as those that showed incredible potential to become tomorrow's legends.
The theme "Larger Than Life" set the tone for the spectacular evening, paying tribute to the remarkable journeys of businesses that had become icons of resilience, innovation, and endurance.
The awards honoured brands in two categories: Brand Legend Awards and Emerging Legend Awards, each celebrating a unique journey of success and growth.
