KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 12 Malaysians will lock horns with some of the best players in the world at the Malaysia Squash Cup at The Curve, Damansara on Nov 12-17.
World No. 9 S. Sivasangari will lead the Malaysian challenge in the women's single category. The other Malaysians are Rachel Arnold, who has been seeded fourth, siblings Aifa and Aira Azman, Noor Ainaa Amani Ampandi as well as wildcard entrants K. Sehveetrraa and J. Yasshmita.
Barring any upsets, Sivasangari and Aifa are likely to clash in the quarterfinals.
Other notable players in the women's field include Egypt's Amina Orfi and Salma Hany, ranked 10th and 11th in the world, Scotland's Georgia Adderley and England's Katie Maliff.
In the men's singles category, world No. 13 Ng Eain Yow will lead the Malaysian charge as the second seed. The other Malaysians in the men's field are Sanjay Jeeva, Muhammad Addeen Idrakie Bahtiar, Mohammad Syafiq Kamal and wildcard entrant C. Ameeshenraj.
Egypt's world No. 11 Youssef Soliman is the top seed. Qatar's Abdulla Al-Tamimi, India's Ramit Tandon and Hungary's Farkas Balazs are among the other big names in the men's competition.
