KUALA LUMPUR: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) earned a cool US$100,000 (RM416,000) bonus following Tuesday's 3-0 win over Shanghai Shenhua in the Asian Champions League Elite (ACLE).
JDT will receive the performance bonus from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), which awards bonuses to teams that win matches in the ACLE.
Hector Bidoglio's side delivered an impressive performance against Shenhua, with goals from Arif Aiman Hanapi, Jorge Obregon and Juan Muniz at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium.
JDT are provisionally second in the East Zone standings with four points from two matches, just two points behind leaders Gwangju.
They began their ACLE campaign with a 2-2 away draw against Shanghai Port on Sept 18.
JDT have already secured RM3.5 million by qualifying for the 2024/25 ACLE.
