KUALA LUMPUR: Nobody from outside of the FA of Malaysia (FAM) can pressure current president Datuk Hamidin Amin into resigning.
This is the view of Malaysian football observer Sadek Mustaffa who said that external pressure on Hamidin is meaningless as he has the support of the FAM affiliates.
Sadek said it was unlikely that FAM affiliates would agree to having Hamidin step down from the top post.
Many had questioned whether Hamidin should resign following the recent resignation of former Harimau Malaya coach Kim Pan Gon as well as the poison pen letter issue which had rocked FAM earlier this year.
"I don't have the right to vote (in FAM) so voicing my opinions is akin to a dog barking at the hills. This, however, proves that those within the system do not want change," said Sadek recently.
"I would like to share about strength, weakness, opportunity and threat (SWOT) analysis but sometimes we forget about analysing the sunnah.
"If he had that in his soul and believes in iman...if he failed he should step down."
Sadek added that Pan Gon's resignation last week should serve as a wake up call for FAM.
"FAM have to relook their role in managing Malaysian football across all the age groups. In this context, Pan Gon's resignation was akin to a slap in the face for FAM," added Sadek.
"FAM have to relook a lot of aspects including the responsibility of club owners who are said to be professional but make excuses and limit playing opportunities.
"If this continues to happen, I could bring in a coach from seventh heaven and nothing would change."
