KUALA LUMPUR: Perak coach Yusri Che Lah, saying he's not a film director, couldn't change the script as his team lost 2-1 to Selangor in a Super League match at MBPJ Stadium yesterday.
Chilean Ronnie Fernandez was on fire for Selangor, scoring in the 24th and 40th minutes. Nur Azfar Fikri Azhar gave a late consolation for Perak with a 78th-minute goal,
Though Perak lost, Yusri highlighed the contributions of Azfar, Sunday Afolabi, Afif Asyraf Zabawi and Aiman Khairul Yusni for the Bos Gaurus
"Players' performances fluctuate; today's heroes may sleep tomorrow. Azfar stood out, but substitutes like Aiman, Afolabi and Afif applied pressure.
"Had we capitalised on this, we could've rewritten the outcome. But alas, I'm not a film director, and today my 'movie' ended in defeat," said Yusri.
Selangor won their third consecutive league matches and occupied second place in the table.
Selangor manager Nidzam Jamil said: "Playing with 10-man wasn't easy. Harith Haiqal Adam Afkar deserves credit for his performance. He represented the future of the national team."
The Super League now takes a two-week break due to the FA Cup, and will resume on July 12.
