KUALA LUMPUR: Indonesian coach Herry IP has been appointed as the new national men's doubles coach.
The BA of Malaysia (BAM) confirmed his appointment during a press conference at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil on Saturday.
Herry, 62, who led Indonesian men's doubles pairs to numerous Olympic and world titles, is seen as the ideal candidate to guide Malaysia's men's doubles squad.
BAM finalised Herry's appointment following deliberations at its council meeting and the endorsement of its members.
Herry will replace Tan Bin Shen, who is set to leave for Hong Kong to coach their doubles team.
Bin Shen's final day with BAM will be on Monday.
Herry will work under BAM's national coaching director, Rexy Mainaky.
