KUALA LUMPUR: National mixed doubles Hoo Pang Ron-Cheng Su Yin achieved their career-best victory by eliminating world No. 3 Jiang Zhen Bang-Wei Ya Xin in the last 16 of the China Masters today.
The world No. 23 Malaysians upset the second-seeded Chinese 16-21, 21-14, 21-19 at the Shenzhen Gymnasium.
They will face Taiwan's Chen Cheng Kuan-Hsu Yin Hui in the quarter-finals.
China has proved to be a happy hunting ground for Pang Ron-Su Yin, who previously reached the quarter-finals of the Super 1000 China Open in Changzhou last September.
