KUALA LUMPUR: Iconic Penang Sdn Bhd has unveiled its latest venture, the five-star Iconic Marjorie Hotel.
It is a Tribute Portfolio Hotel in Bayan Lepas under the Marriott International brand.
The 298-room hotel celebrated its soft opening, marking a significant milestone for Iconic Group.
Iconic Worldwide and Iconic Group chairman Datuk Seri Tan Kean Tet said the hotel will advance Penang's status as a world-class destination for tourists and investors.
"This hotel will be more than a luxury destination. It will be a celebration of Penang's rich heritage and a testament to our commitment to delivering excellence in real estate and hospitality," he said in a statement.
Developed with an investment of RM180 million, Iconic Marjorie is owned by Tan's privately held Iconic Penang.
Designed in collaboration with Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA), Iconic Group has created a unique architectural and design experience that celebrates Penang's rich Baba-Nyonya heritage.
It said Iconic Marjorie immerses travellers in the island's captivating beauty and multicultural spirit, combining timeless elegance with contemporary style.
The hotel also reflects the group's commitment to sustainability, being the first in Penang to achieve the prestigious Gold standard in the Green Building Index (GBI) rating system.
The hotel is located adjacent to Iconic Regency, a 42-storey residential towers offering 268-unit freehold serviced residence developed by the group.
Both buildings are strategically located in Sungai Nibong, part of the Bayan Lepas industrial zone known as the 'Silicon Valley of the East'.
Iconic Regency and Iconic Marjorie are positioned to tap demand from expatriates, students and business executives.
They offer convenient accessibility to tourism hotspots, residential areas and recreational centres across Penang Island, including Queensbay Mall (3km away), Komtar (12km away), Balik Pulau (14 km away), and two proposed LRT stations.
