KOTA BARU: Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan remains silent on Pas Youth's suggestion that he be appointed as the new Perikatan Nasional (PN) secretary-general.
"No reply is a good reply," said the Pas secretary-general, who is Kota Baru member of parliament.
Pas vice-president Datuk Mohd Amar Abdullah said the party would let PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin decide.
"Pas Youth can only express their views. They can't force others to agree with them.
"However, it would be good for Muhyiddin to consider the proposal," said the Panchor assemblyman.
Amar said Pas would accept whatever decision is made by Muhyiddin
Pas Youth chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden proposed Takiyuddin as the new PN secretary-general yesterday.
He said the suggestion reflected Takiyuddin's seniority and experience, noting his previous role as PN deputy secretary-general.
"This follows Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin's recent appointment as Bersatu deputy president," Afnan said.
Hamzah was announced as Bersatu deputy president, replacing former perak menteri besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, who had served as secretary-general since 2020.
